This site features many original
photographs, which were originally seen on our 2001 special edition
calendar.
We used Pascal Plessis, a renowned society photographer from France.

I first met the Delahaye Family at the launch of their calendar
when I was asked to cover the event in my role as photographer.
The concept of the calendar was very impressive, taking an unknown
artist and making a calendar of their work. Seven years on and here
I am, delighted and privileged to be part of Delahayes new
image.
My first idea for the calendar was to show the real life of the
guys, all the hard work that they do; there are things which are
seen by the clients, and discovered there is a lot no-one ever sees;
the early start, the late finish, the work in the warehouse, the
driving of the trucks, the safety aspects etc
..
I went to spend some days with them; I saw things that I did not
expect to find. I enjoyed the transitions from an empty house, cold
and dead, into a warm home, full of life. A real Renaissance, a
new start for the house and the family moving in.
I was initially quite worried, how could I make a photo
of a truck interesting! But the more I walked around
the truck I realised that the doors of the lorry had a real story
to tell. This is why I have focused on them closed, open or half-open.
Then ; How could I show the guys I wanted
to show the energy they use, not to forget the refuelling they get
with a cup of tea! The company would not be the company it is, without
their hard work and of course the strong back bone of the organisation
behind them. It is you the clients, past/present/future, who entrust
your favourite antique commode and your most closely guarded secret
to these guys. It is on their
hard work, their teamwork and their professional ability, that you
base your judgement. Unfortunately you only get to see half of the
work.
I hope that you will enjoy this calendar and join me in congratulating
Delahaye Moving on their New Image, New Colours and of course the
New Generation, Josef-Xavier. I am very pleased to be part of it
all!
